Connect an assistant
This is the address to give it. The assistant will send you here to sign in and ask whether to allow it; you can refuse, and you can take it back afterwards.
Five tools: check a whole passage, check one citation, verify a quotation against the opinion, find a case by name, and seal a report. All of them read and report; none of them change anything anywhere.
In Claude
- Open Customize → Connectors.
- Press +, then Add custom connector.
- Paste the address above and press Add.
- Sign in and press Allow when it sends you here.
- In a conversation, turn it on with the + button, then Connectors.
Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans; a free plan may have one at a time. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds it once in organisation settings and everyone else presses Connect.
In ChatGPT
- On the web, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Read the warning it shows you.
- Open Plugins, press +, name it Loupe and paste the address above.
- Sign in and press Allow when it sends you here.
- In a conversation, add it from the tools menu.
Developer mode needs a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education plan, and is on the web rather than the phone. In a business workspace it depends on what the workspace allows. These menus have moved before; if yours look different, OpenAI's help pages have the current path.
In Word
- Download the add-in file. It is a few lines telling Word where the pane lives, not a program.
- In Word on the web, open a document and choose Home → Add-ins → More Settings.
- Choose Upload My Add-in, then the file you downloaded, then Upload.
- Loupe appears on the Home tab.
Word keeps an add-in added this way in that browser, so a different browser needs it added again. For a whole firm, your Microsoft 365 administrator can deploy the same file to everybody at once, and that reaches Word on the desktop as well. Some firms switch Upload My Add-in off, and then that is the way.
The pane reads the document you have open and sends the text it checks. It selects a citation when you click a finding and changes nothing. Word will describe it as able to change the document, because the permission it holds also covers adding comments.
Assistants
None yet. When you allow one it appears here, and removing it here stops it at once.
Licence key
Your paid licence is attached to this account. For safety, a 30-day browser session cannot reveal the reusable credential. The Word pane uses this signed-in session; assistants use the revocable connection shown above.

Where you’re signed in
Loupe does not store browser names or full user-agent strings. That avoids retaining another fingerprint; the controls below still let you close the browser you are using or every browser at once. Assistants are revoked separately above.
